How to submit your Traineeship Employer Incentive Registration Form


What is it the Traineeship Employer Incentive?

Back in July 2020, as part of the Government's "Plan for Jobs" to get the UK economy back on track, an incentive scheme was introduced to simulate the economy, get young people into work and help businesses stay afloat in difficult times. Employers who hire a new trainee are able to claim a bonus of up to £1,000 per new trainee (up to 10). This scheme is due to end on March 31st, but may be extended again.


Well, for those employers who were able to get new trainees on their books at the start of this incentive, it is time for you to apply for your bonus. On the gov.uk website, you can submit your application form online. Below, we've provided some helpful information on how to apply for your incentive.


How to apply for the Incentive?


1) Gather the necessary details to complete the 'Traineeship Employer Incentive' registration form

You can only complete this form once Central Training Group (CTG) has supplied you with the unique learner number (ULN) and work placement postcode of all trainees for which you wish to apply for an employer incentive payment. This can only be issued on completion of the work placement. If you do not have this information, please contact us. If you are not with CTG, please contact your training provider.

2) Review and agree to the incentive's employer agreement

Review the agreement before you complete the 'Traineeship Employer Incentive' registration form. Once you start completing the incentive registration form, you'll be asked to confirm that you agree to the terms and conditions. You can view the official agreement here.


3) Register your bank details for the incentive payment

After you have completed the Employer Registration Form and have submitted your Trainee details, you will then need to submit your bank account details. You can just submit your Vendor number if you have previously completed a bank registration form.

Payment of Traineeship Employer Incentive

As stated in the official agreement, it is anticipated that after the forms have been submitted, that verification checks are expected to be completed approximately 90 days after submission. If you meet all of the criteria and pass the checks, you can expect payment the following calendar month by BACS transfer to the bank account details you provided.
