This programme will focus on Make-up Artistry skills at Level 2 and learners will achieve a Level 2 Technical Certificate in Make-up Artistry.
Learners will gain knowledge about the principles of working in the make-up industry, anatomy and physiology for make-up artists, the art of applying make-up, hair artistry and creative make-up artistry.
Learners will complete mandatory work experience at one of Central’s high-quality employers as an integral part of this programme.
Ideally learners will have previously achieved GCSE’s in English and Maths at grade 3 or above.
Learners with Grade 3 in English and/or Maths will also complete a GCSE in English and/or Maths alongside the Make-up Artistry qualification.
Learners with Grade 2 or below will complete Functional Skills in English and/or maths at Level 1 or 2 alongside the Make-up Artistry qualification.
Duration & Level:
This programme is a one-year course that can enable the learner to progress to either a hairdressing or barbering apprenticeship or a Hairdressing Certificate Study Programme for year two.
Learners will attend for two days per week for make-up artistry and up to two additional days per week for English and Maths.
The learner will achieve a Technical Certificate in Make-up Artistry at the end of Year 1 and a qualification in Women’s Hairdressing at the end of Year 2. English and Maths is an integral element of both Year 1 and 2.
This course is free of charge.
Learners are required to have their own Make-up and Hairdressing Equipment and the cost is approximately £200.00.
