Hiring apprentices for your business
Do you have a long list of goals you want to achieve, while setting your team up for the future? Hiring an apprentice will set you on the right path.
An Apprentice can help your business in a number of ways. As well as adding resource for some of your functions, apprenticeships can set the tone for the learning and development in your organisation.
Apprentices increase productivity in a business by £214 a week on average (according to the CEBR).
Help your business to grow, with an apprentice.
Have an entry level position in your organisation, or think you’ll have a need for one soon? An apprentice could be just what you need. What's more, the new Government Incentive means that from 1st August 2020 until 31st January 2021 all employers providing apprenticeship work placements will receive £3,000 for apprentices aged 16 to 18 years old or £1,500 if aged 19 years and over.
How it works:
Collaborate with us at Central Training Group to set the syllabus that suits your business. You might have a role you’re struggling to fill, or are finding that college or university leavers have a skills' gap which impacts your business. Set the tone for your employees with training that helps you both.
We’ll help you with everything including organising the amount of time needed for training, and how to structure on the job training.
We’ll even manage the hiring process for you, from posting on job portals like Indeed and Recruit an Apprentice, to screening and interviewing potential apprentices for you.
All you need to do is find a space for them in your premises!
It’s as easy as that.
How much should an apprentice be paid?
The apprentice hourly wage, as at April 2020 is £4.15, if the apprentice is aged under 19, or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.
Apprentices are entitled to the minimum wage for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.

What skills does an apprentice need before they can start with my business?
For those young people right at the beginning of their journey, offering them a traineeship with your business will not only help them build their core, essential skills for the beginning of their career, but also give them an invaluable insight into your business.
At the start of every career journey, the right support can be instrumental in setting you on the right path.
